The National Informatics Centre (NIC) is an attached office under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in the Government of India. It was established in 1976 and is a premier science and technology organization at the forefront of the active promotion and implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions in the Government. NIC provides infrastructure to support the delivery of various e-governance services at the national, state, and district levels.
