Job Description

Role & responsibilities

L2 IBM WebSphere Responsibilities

Install and configure IBM WebSphere Application Server.

Configure Data Sources, Web Servers, JVMs, and Heap Size allocation.

Install and maintain Java (JDK/JRE) on application servers.

Perform middleware administration on Linux and Windows servers.

Install and configure IBM HTTP Server (IHS) / Apache Web Server.

Analyze Heap Dumps and Thread Dumps to troubleshoot performance issues.

Troubleshoot and resolve middleware, application, and server-related issues.

Raise PMRs and coordinate with IBM Support for product-related issues.

Apply WebSphere Fix Packs and Interim Fixes.

Perform WebSphere version upgrades and post-upgrade validation.

Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and recovery activities.

L2 – JBoss Responsibilities

Install and configure JBoss Application Server (JBoss EAP/WildFly).

Configure Data Sources, Web Servers, JVMs, and Heap Size allocation.

Install and maintain Java (JDK/JRE) on application servers.

Perform middleware administration on Linux and Windows servers.

Install and configure Apache Web Server.

Analyze Heap Dumps and Thread Dumps to identify performance issues.

Troubleshoot and resolve middleware and application-related issues.

Raise support requests with Red Hat for product-related issues.

Apply JBoss Fix Packs, Patches, and Security Updates.

Perform JBoss version upgrades and validate services.

Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and failover activities.

L2 – Apache Tomcat Responsibilities

Install and configure Apache Tomcat Application Server.

Configure Data Sources, Web Servers, JVMs, and Heap Size allocation.

Install and maintain Java (JDK/JRE) on application servers.

Perform middleware administration on Linux and Windows servers.

Install and configure Apache HTTP Server.

Analyze Heap Dumps and Thread Dumps for performance troubleshooting.

Troubleshoot and resolve middleware, application, and server issues.

Raise vendor/support requests whenever required.

Apply Apache Tomcat Fix Packs, Patches, and Security Updates.

Perform Apache Tomcat version upgrades and post-upgrade validation.

Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and recovery procedures.
