Manual Test Engineer — Job Description

Experience: 3–5 Years | Type: Contract

 Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Test Engineer with strong testing expertise, solid understanding of business workflows, SQL proficiency, and basic MongoDB knowledge to ensure high-quality software delivery.

 Key Responsibilities

- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts covering Functional, Regression, Integration, UAT, Smoke, and Sanity Testing.

- Analyze requirements and user stories to derive end-to-end test scenarios aligned with business flows.

- Log, track, and perform root cause analysis of defects using JIRA / Azure DevOps.

- Validate data integrity by writing SQL queries against relational databases.

- Perform basic MongoDB queries to verify NoSQL data.

- Maintain RTM for full traceability and contribute to QA documentation and process improvements.

- Collaborate with BAs, Developers, and Product Owners in an Agile/Scrum environment.

- Leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Katalon AI) to auto-generate test cases, prioritize coverage, and accelerate the testing process.

Complex queries — JOINs, subqueries, GROUP BY, window functions; MySQL / PostgreSQL / MS SQL / Oracle

MongoDB

Basic queries — find(), $match, $project; MongoDB Compass familiarity

AI in Testing

Familiarity with AI-assisted test case generation and coverage analysis tools

 

 Good to Have

- API testing (Postman / REST Assured)

- Test management tools — TestRail, Zephyr, or qTest

- Git basics and automation concepts awareness

 Qualifications

- Bachelor's in Computer Science / IT or related field

- 3–5 years of hands-on Manual Testing experience

- ISTQB Foundation Level — preferred
