Electrical Project Estimation / Tendering Manager
Position: Estimation / Tendering Manager - Electrical Projects
Experience: Minimum 10+ Years
Qualification: BE / B. Tech / Diploma - Electrical
Location: Mumbai Head Office
Gender: Male / Female
Salary: Up to 1,00,000 Gross per month (based on experience & capability)
Industry: Electrical Contracting (Projects to work on Commercial / Industrial Projects / Data Centre)

1. Position Overview
The Estimation/Tendering Manager will lead the complete pre-contract function, including cost estimation, tender submissions, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, vendor coordination and techno-commercial review.
He/She must have strong leadership capability and will be responsible for managing a team of 3 to 4 Estimators, ensuring quality output and timely tender submission.

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Estimation & Costing

• Study tender documents, drawings, specifications and prepare accurate BOQs.
• Perform detailed quantity take-off for Electrical systems (LT/HT, Panels, DBs, Cabling, Conduits, Lighting, Earthing, ELV systems, etc.).
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates including material, labour, subcontracting, overhead & margins.
• Conduct rate analysis and identify value-engineering opportunities.

B. Team Leadership

• Lead, guide and supervise a team of 3 to 4 Estimators.
• Allocate tasks, review work and ensure accuracy of quantity take-offs and costing.
• Train junior estimators on quantity take-off, rate analysis and tender documentation.
• Ensure teamwork, discipline and adherence to deadlines.

C. Tendering & Documentation

• Prepare technical & commercial proposals with supporting documents.
• Draft compliance statements, deviation sheets, vendor lists and pricing formats.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
• Coordinate with internal teams for inputs required for bid submission.

D. Vendor/Subcontractor Coordination

• Float enquiries, evaluate offers and negotiate best techno-commercial rates.
• Maintain updated vendor database and rate sheet.
• Identify new vendors for competitive pricing.

E. Reporting & Management Coordination

• Prepare costing summaries, risk assessment notes and approval sheets for management.
• Maintain tender tracking registers and bid status reports.
• Support management during bid finalization and client presentations.

3. Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of Electrical HT/LT distribution, panels, cables, earthing, lighting, and ELV systems.
• Excellent command over Excel-based BOQ preparation and quantity extraction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings (AutoCAD knowledge preferred).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Good negotiation and vendor comparison capability.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tenders with strict timelines.
