Job Description

Role & responsibilities


  • Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of production equipment.
  • Ensure maximum machine uptime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
  • Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all plant machinery.
  • Monitor and reduce machine downtime through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Production to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain maintenance records, machine history cards, and spare parts inventory.
  • Ensure timely calibration and maintenance of utilities and production equipment.
  • Implement TPM, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and machine guarding.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for AMC, repairs, and equipment servicing.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and relocation of new machines and equipment.
  • Monitor utility systems such as air compressors, DG sets, EOT cranes, and electrical panels.
  • Optimize maintenance costs while ensuring equipment reliability and performance.
  • Train operators on autonomous maintenance and basic machine care practices.




Preferred candidate profile


  • Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 36 years of experience in maintenance of automotive manufacturing or sheet metal plants.
  • Hands-on experience in maintenance of stamping presses, welding machines, tube bending machines, hydraulic systems, and material handling equipment.
  • Good knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, electrical panels, sensors, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Experience in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
  • Familiarity with TPM, OEE, MTTR, MTBF, and maintenance planning.
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Knowledge of utilities such as air compressors, DG sets, transformers, and EOT cranes.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in IATF 16949 and safety compliance within an automotive manufacturing environment will be preferred.
