Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs for mainframe applications using Micro Focus tools such as IMS DB and VSAML.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and design solutions that meet customer needs.
- Develop complex database queries using CICS, IMS, and VSAM systems to extract data from large datasets.
- Troubleshoot issues related to program execution, data integrity, and system performance.
Job Requirements :
- 5-10 years of experience in developing COBOL programs on mainframes (AS400) using Micro Focus platforms like IMS DB and VSAML.
- Strong understanding of DBMS concepts including relational databases (CICS), flat files (IMS), and hierarchical databases (VSAM).
- Proficiency in writing efficient SQL queries for querying large datasets.
- Experience working with IT services & consulting companies providing technical support for mainframe applications.
