Job Summary
Infosys is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with 59 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, and related mainframe technologies, along with experience in application maintenance, production support, and system modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
- Perform impact analysis, code reviews, and unit testing for application enhancements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents within defined SLAs.
- Develop and maintain technical design documents and support documentation.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, testers, and cross-functional teams.
- Participate in system integration testing, UAT support, and production deployments.
- Optimize application performance and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Support batch processing, job scheduling, and monitoring activities.
- Contribute to application modernization and migration initiatives.

- File Handling and Utilities
- Experience with:
- Endevor, Changeman, or similar version control tools
- IBM Mainframe Environment (z/OS)
- Batch and Online Application Development
- Production Support and Incident Management
- Good understanding of:
- SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Mainframe debugging and performance tuning
- SQL queries and database concepts
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Retail, or Healthcare domains.
- Knowledge of MQ Series, IMS DB/DC, REXX, Easytrieve, or Syncsort.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and application modernization tools.
- Experience working in global delivery models.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered.
