What your role as MLE in Jet2 would look like

•     Build, deploy, and optimise Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions on AWS, delivering reliable, scalable, and production-ready AI systems.

•     Use AI-assisted development with Kiro to accelerate development, improve engineering quality, automate testing, and standardise delivery practices.

•     Develop ML, GenAI, and data pipelines using MLOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and AWS cloud-native services.

•     Build and support LLM-powered applications including RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, MCP, and Agentic AI workflows using modern orchestration frameworks.

•     Support, monitor, troubleshoot, and automate production ML and GenAI workloads, ensuring model reliability, incident resolution, performance optimisation, and operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, and self-healing automation

•     Partner with Data Scientists, Data Engineering, Product, and Platform teams to deliver reliable production AI solutions.

•     Recommend platform and infrastructure improvements that enhance scalability, performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency on AWS.

•     Apply software engineering best practices including version control, testing, code reviews, documentation, and reusable engineering patterns.

•     Work with AWS services such as SageMaker, ECS/EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, Bedrock, S3, Glue, CloudWatch, ElastiCache, and related cloud-native technologies.

•     Continuously learn emerging AI Engineering, MLOps, LLMOps, and AIOps technologies, bringing practical innovation into everyday engineering.

•     Thrive in an Agile environment, collaborating effectively across cross-functional and cross-regional teams to deliver high-quality AI solutions.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience (Candidate Requirements):

•     Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical discipline, with 3–5 years of experience in Machine Learning Engineering, MLOps, or Cloud Engineering.

•     Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience building production-quality software using Git, testing frameworks, APIs, and software engineering best practices.

•     Hands-on experience with AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Bedrock) and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent.

•     Experience building, deploying, monitoring, and supporting ML/GenAI workloads using MLOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and automated deployment pipelines

•     Experience monitoring production AI systems, troubleshooting incidents, automating operational processes, and improving platform reliability and performance.

•     Working knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus.

•     AWS and/or Agentic AI certifications are a plus.

•     Hands-on Agentic AI projects beyond corporate work are a strong plus.
