Job Description
Job Title: Architect Licensing & Liaison
Job Summary The Architect Licensing & Liaison is responsible for managing statutory approvals, architectural compliance, and coordination with regulatory authorities for building projects. The role focuses on securing timely approvals, ensuring adherence to development control regulations, and facilitating smooth liaison with government bodies such as Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority, Slum Rehabilitation Authority, and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority. Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end building approval processes including plan submission, scrutiny, and sanction
- Coordinate with BMC, MHADA, SRA, and MMRDA for approvals, permissions, and compliance.
- Prepare and review architectural drawings, layouts, and development proposals as per regulations
- Ensure compliance with Development Control Regulations (DCR), UDCPR, and local building by-laws
- Handle approvals for
- Layout approvals
- Commencement Certificates (CC)
- Intimation of Disapproval (IOD)
- Occupation Certificates (OC)
- Building Completion Certificates
- Liaise with government departments for NOCs such as Fire, Environment, Water, Sewerage, and Traffic
- Manage documentation, submission, and follow-ups for all statutory approvals
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, project, legal) for design and compliance alignment
- Monitor project timelines related to approvals and highlight risks or delays
- Stay updated with changes in government policies, building regulations, and approval processes
- Support licensing and compliance strategy for new and ongoing projects
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) mandatory
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Licensing & Liaison / Building Approval processes
- Proven working experience with:
- Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC approvals)
- Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority
- Slum Rehabilitation Authority
- Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority
- Strong knowledge of:
- Development Control Regulations (DCR) / UDCPR
- Building approval workflows and compliance procedures
- Statutory NOCs and licensing processes
- Experience in handling large-scale residential, commercial, or redevelopment projects preferred
Key Skills Strong liaison and coordination skills with government authorities Expertise in architectural planning and statutory compliance Documentation, submission, and follow-up management Knowledge of AutoCAD and relevant architectural software Excellent communication and stakeholder management Problem-solving and deadline management Preferred Profile Experience in Slum Rehabilitation (SRA) / Redevelopment projects Exposure to ERP systems, workflow tracking, and SOP implementation Strong network within approval authorities and departments Reporting Structure Reports to: Head Licensing & Liaison / Project Director Salary Scale - 8 TO 12 lakh per annum
