Job Description

As an L3 Lead, Legal Operations, you will be the critical link between on-the-ground delivery execution and geo-level strategy. You will directly manage L2, who owns quality control, SOP maintenance, and Associates oversight while reporting to the Manager Geo (L4), who owns portfolio performance and executive alignment. Your focus will be on ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across your assigned engagements, keeping L2 teams coordinated and performing, and proactively surfacing risks and insights that enable the L4 to make informed geo-level decisions.

  • Directly manage Sr. Legal Operation Specialist (L2), providing structured coaching, regular performance feedback, and clear growth direction.
  • Hold L2s accountable to their delivery, quality, and SOP responsibilities while supporting them in resolving challenges they cannot independently address.
  • Identify development needs across L2s and work with L4 to build capability and bench strength within the team.

Delivery Oversight
  • Own delivery performance across all engagements managed by your L2s, ensuring TAT, accuracy, and scope commitments are consistently met.
  • Review and approve complex deliverables, escalated contract scenarios, and non-standard approach decisions before they are elevated to L4.
  • Monitor engagement health across your span of control and proactively flag risks, bottlenecks, and scope gaps to the L4 before they impact clients.
  • Coordinate execution flow across multiple concurrent engagements to ensure resource conflicts and sequencing issues are resolved efficiently.
Quality Process
  • Oversee and audit the quality framework maintained by L2s, ensuring QC processes, defect tracking, and rework patterns are being actively managed.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring quality issues and drive structural fixes across teams.
  • Review and approve updates to SOPs, templates, guides, and enablement documents before they are finalized and rolled out.
  • Champion a first-time-right mindset across all layers of the team and enforce consistent quality standards.
Risk Escalation Management
  • Act as the first escalation point for L2s on delivery risks, client concerns, and complex contract or scope issues.
  • Identify and mitigate project-level risks within your span before they require geo-level intervention by the L4.
  • Maintain visibility into all active engagement risks and ensure mitigation actions are tracked and executed by L2s.
Stakeholder Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Support L4 in internal alignment with Product, Customer Success, Implementation, and Sales teams on engagement-specific requirements and feedback.
  • Participate in client-facing delivery reviews and status discussions as needed, representing the delivery team with clarity and confidence.
  • Ensure client requirements are accurately understood, communicated to L2s, and reflected in delivery outputs without gaps.
Reporting KPI Tracking
  • Track and report on engagement-level KPIs including TAT, defect rates, migration accuracy, and onboarding progress across your L2 teams.
  • Provide L4 with regular, data-driven visibility into delivery health, team performance, and emerging risks within your span.
  • Contribute inputs for geo-level reporting, QBRs, and utilization planning led by the L4.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of overall experience in legal operations or contract management, with at least 1 year in a people management role.
  • Experience working with CLM platforms and AI-assisted contract tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of contract review, metadata abstraction, risk identification, and negotiation across agreement types, including NDAs, MSAs, SaaS agreements, SOWs, and licensing agreements.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-team, multi-client delivery environments with competing priorities and high accuracy requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with a structured approach to root cause analysis, KPI tracking, and quality governance.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage confidently with internal senior stakeholders and client-facing teams.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
  • Law graduate from a reputed institution recognised by the Bar Council of India or equivalent, with strong academics
