Legal Head

Role & responsibilities

• Handle all legal matters pertaining to NBFC operations, including loan documentation and recovery proceedings.
• Draft, vet, and review agreements, notices, contracts, and legal correspondence.
• Manage litigation matters and coordinate with external legal counsel and law firms.
• Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide legal opinions and risk assessments to management on business transactions and policies.
• Handle SARFAESI, arbitration, cheque bounce matters, and consumer complaints wherever applicable.
• Support collections and recovery teams in legal escalations and dispute resolution.
• Maintain legal records, case trackers, and ensure timely filing of statutory documents.
• Develop and implement legal policies and standard operating procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university. LL.M. will be an added advantage.

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant legal experience in an NBFC or Financial Services organization.

• Strong understanding of RBI regulations, lending practices, and financial services laws.

• Prior experience in drafting and reviewing legal agreements and managing litigation matters.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
