Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Lead DevOps Platform Engineer to lead the strategy, governance, automation, and management of our GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps platforms. This role combines platform engineering, software development, DevOps architecture, enterprise governance, and technical leadership.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, .NET (C#), Azure Functions, PowerShell, Angular and TypeScript, with a proven track record of building custom platform solutions, Azure DevOps extensions, GitHub Apps, enterprise integrations, and automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Administration & Governance

• Lead the administration and governance of GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps and other platforms.
• Manage organizations, projects, teams, enterprise policies, define and enforce repository governance, branching strategies, branch protection rules, pull request policies, and code review standards.
• Implement and maintain governance controls including Secret Scanning, Dependabot, CodeQL, SonarQube integrations, and repository rulesets.
• Drive standardization and adoption of DevOps best practices across engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to rapidly analyze issues and deliver practical solutions.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams and supporting multiple business units and engineering organizations.

Platform Engineering & Custom Development

• Architect and develop enterprise-grade solutions that extend GitHub and Azure DevOps capabilities.
• Design and develop scalable internal tools, services, integrations, and automation frameworks using .NET (C#).
• Build reusable SDKs, API wrappers, and custom services to support platform operations and governance initiatives.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom solutions using Azure Function Apps using .NET (C#).
• Build event-driven and serverless solutions supporting platform automation, governance, compliance, and developer productivity.
• Develop integrations leveraging Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, and Application Insights.

GitHub Application and Azure DevOps Extension Development

• Design, develop, and maintain GitHub Apps and GitHub-based automation solutions.
• Build integrations using GitHub REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, GitHub Actions, Webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
• Create solutions supporting repository governance, onboarding, migrations, compliance, reporting, and operational automation.
• Develop scalable and reusable automation frameworks supporting GitHub Enterprise administration.
• Design, develop, and maintain custom Azure DevOps extensions
• Build modern user experiences using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

CI/CD Architecture & DevOps Enablement

• Define enterprise CI/CD standards using GitHub Actions and Azure Pipelines.
• Expertise experience in designing, developing, and governing GitHub Actions workflows.
• Strong expertise in workflow architecture, reusable workflows, composite actions, custom actions, environments, deployment strategies, approvals, and runner management.
• Strong understanding of workflow security, secrets management, OIDC authentication, environment protection rules, and compliance controls.
• Design and optimize large-scale build, deployment, and release architecture.
• Implement quality gates, security controls, and compliance validation within CI/CD workflows.
• Integrate DevSecOps tooling such as SonarQube, Dependabot, CodeQL, Secret Scanning, and vulnerability management platforms.
• Strong experience migrating CI/CD pipelines from Azure DevOps Pipelines to GitHub Actions.

Enterprise Integrations & Automation

• Lead the design and implementation of integrations between GitHub, Azure DevOps, and enterprise systems.
• Develop automation frameworks using PowerShell, .NET, Azure CLI, GitHub CLI, REST APIs, and GraphQL APIs.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL development.
• Automate repository provisioning, user onboarding, access governance, audit reporting, compliance checks, and operational processes.
• Build self-service platform capabilities that improve developer experience and reduce manual effort.
• Design and maintain operational dashboards and reporting solutions.

Migration & Platform Transformation

• Lead enterprise migration initiatives of different platforms.
• Define migration strategies, governance models, validation mechanisms, and automation accelerators.
• Oversee repository migrations, pipeline migrations, work item migrations, and platform consolidation activities.
• Provide architecture guidance and technical leadership during transformation programmers.
• Drive modernization initiatives and adoption of engineering best practices.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Serve as the primary SME for GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps platforms.
• Mentor engineers on platform engineering, automation, DevOps practices, governance, and software development.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership, security teams, enterprise architects, and stakeholders.
• Influence platform strategy, roadmaps, standards, and future technology investments.

Must Have Skills:

• Expertise in administering GitHub Enterprise.
• Expertise in .NET (C#) development, PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Strong experience developing Azure Function Apps using .NET.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and Angular development.
• Experience developing and maintaining custom GitHub Apps.
• Strong experience with Azure Devops and Github REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, OAuth, Service Hooks, and Webhooks.
• Strong experience with GitHub Actions and Azure Pipelines.
• Experience integrating SonarQube, Dependabot, CodeQL, Secret Scanning, and other DevSecOps tools.
