Lead Software Engineer - Data Management Service - Change Management
Job Summary
The DMS Change team is part of the SimCorp Managed Business Services Team. The team works directly with Data Management Service Business Operations using Data Management Platform, which is a single instance, software as a service (SaaS) based product. It provides Reference Data Management and Valuation solutions for many of the worlds leading and most innovative financial institutions, including regional and global banks and asset management firms.
The Lead Software Engineer in the DMS Change Team owns the technical direction for the customer layer of the product, drives design and architecture decisions, and leads a group of developers responsible for building, testing, and ensuring compatibility with the broader enterprise and solutions architecture through modern development technologies.
The Lead Software Engineer will also define and drive new capabilities that support Data Management Service Business Operations, set technical standards across the team, and engage with multiple development teams sitting in different service stacks to align delivery and design.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical design and architecture for assigned areas of the platform, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DMS Change developers - providing technical guidance, conducting design/code reviews, and setting engineering best practices.
- Grasp the concepts of the system via design documents and drive the team to speed on ongoing SaaS efforts; act as the technical escalation point for the team.
- Support and guide Data Advisory, DMS Operations and QA team members in understanding platform capabilities and constraints, acting as the primary technical point of contact across multiple stacks.
- Communicate priorities, negotiate trade-offs, and align work items assigned to the team with business and program objectives.
- Drive advanced debugging and root-cause analysis to resolve complex issues in SIT, UAT and PROD environments, and coach others in doing the same.
- Champion the creation of tools and automation that reduce effort and time spent on repeated activities, and showcase these to a wider audience across teams.
- Bring enterprise-level software leadership experience to the table, driving optimizations, streamlining, and modernization of processes and systems.
- Own the teams testing strategy in partnership with QA - ensuring strong test coverage, promoting TDD/BDD practices, and supporting testers on technical queries.
- Lead RCA and retrospective meetings with a strong sense of ownership, drive continuous improvement actions to closure, and foster a culture open to feedback.
- Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback for team members.

Must have
- 10+ years of experience using .NET technologies with an emphasis on C#, Microsoft .NET Framework including WPF, WWF, and WCF.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a team of developers, including code/design reviews and technical decision-making.
- Experience with multi-threaded / performance intensive applications.
- Deep understanding and experience with Object-Oriented design and development.
- Strong Analysis, Design, and Development skills with the ability to set technical direction for others.
- Familiarity with source control systems (Git/TFS) and continuous build/CI practices.
- Strong experience in RDBMS (Oracle/MSSQL).
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to represent the team in cross-functional and stakeholder discussions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex, ambiguous technical issues.
- Solid knowledge of Web API, .NET Core, Microservices, Docker, or container-based applications.
- Experience with cloud-based applications.
- Experience driving Agile methodologies within a team.
- Working knowledge of TDD/BDD, with experience championing adoption across a team.
- Experience in the Capital Markets domain is a plus - preferably with buy-side firms.

- Capital Markets domain knowledge, preferably with BUY SIDE firms and experience.
- Experience working with Reference Data Management setup and understanding of various asset classes (Equity, Derivatives, and Fixed Income, etc.) and Market data feeds (Reuters, Bloomberg, MarkIT, etc.).
Prior formal people-management or team-lead experience.
