About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, high-ownership Technical Lead / Lead Backend Engineer to drive the architecture, design, and resilient execution of our core distributed backend ecosystem. In this role, you will not just manage tasksyou will own the architectural blueprint, eliminate legacy technical debt, and ensure our cloud-native platforms can seamlessly handle high-throughput scale.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Architectural Leadership: Own the end-to-end design, modularity, and service boundaries of high-scale Java 11/17+ Spring Boot microservices.
- Hands-on Engineering: Write clean, maintainable, production-grade code leveraging SOLID principles and advanced backend design patterns (Strategy, Factory, Decorator, Builder).
- Production Observability & Resilience: Independently isolate, diagnose, and resolve high-severity production bottlenecks. Configure active system fault-tolerance utilizing Resilience4j (circuit breakers, bulkheads, rate limiters).
- Cloud & Runtime Ownership: Design, optimize, and maintain containerized deployment strategies across cloud ecosystems (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Database & Stream Engineering: Fine-tune distributed database access layers (SQL/NoSQL) and design asynchronous, decoupled messaging streams for real-time event-driven processing.
- Engineering Culture: Establish strict code-review guidelines, enforce dependency governance, and drive a zero-defect deployment culture using JUnit 5, Mockito, and TestContainers.
Skill Set Required (Must-Have)
- Programming Languages: Core Java & Java 8+ (Deep understanding of Collections, Concurrency/Multithreading, Streams, and Functional Interfaces).
- Frameworks: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Gateway, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.
- Architecture: Decoupled Microservices Architecture, RESTful API design, and Secure API integration (Spring Security, JWT).
- Databases: Strong relational database proficiency (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) including query optimization, indexing, and schema design.
- Build & Version Tools: Maven or Gradle, along with advanced Git branching workflows (Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have / High Value)
- Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience deploying and integrating services natively on cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Containers & Orchestration: Direct experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher (configuring multi-stage Dockerfiles, troubleshooting pod logs, and managing container environments).
- Messaging & Caching: Exposure to high-throughput message brokers (Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ) and distributed caching systems (Redis).
- Observability & Monitoring: Familiarity with telemetry and monitoring suites (Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack) to analyze live production performance.
- NoSQL Knowledge: Experience working with document-based databases like MongoDB is a strong plus.
