What this job involves
Putting safety first always
This challenging yet exciting role puts you in the driving seat of our efforts to build and maintain an environmentally sustainable, healthy and safe workplace. You'll provide safety support to all sites/ building in the portfolio, ensuring they all meet our established standards and that of local safety regulations especially with regards to fire safety.
Specifically, you'll conduct safety review meetings with building leads at regular intervals to mitigate any risks and audit systems and practises followed. You'll ensure that all high-risk activities have proper documentation. Additionally, you'll promote fire safety by performing site inspections, risk reports, timely fire safety-related corrections, and weekly safety meetings. You'll also constantly coordinate with the building manager and Head Operations DLF Commercial/Brookfield to ensure that everybody will be out of harm's way.
Promoting safety awareness
Getting everyone on board our fire safety initiatives falls on your shoulders. You need to create awareness and educate our people and stakeholders. You'll achieve this through consistent sharing of success stories and best practices among project JLL teams, and also by doing regular mentoring and coaching of our safety officers and other site employees. Another step would be obtaining the relevant professional licenses and ensuring they stay up-to-date.
An eye for detail
We ll expect you to be good at identifying, and devising measures to meet, our stakeholders business needs and requirements. Having strong written and spoken communication skills are vital and, of course, you ll be good at building team relationships that is, listening to your team and being open to suggestions and knowledge exchange and interacting effectively with business partners
Your duties will involve:
- Be in charge of the fire safety for the portfolio
- Conduct regular Hazard Identification & risk analysis studies.
- Formulate & review all fire related SOPs.
- Train team on Flight deck firefighting, rescue, update them on use of Fire Safety related equipment and designs such as spray & sprinkler system, specialized fire suppression system etc. if need be
- Audit and review maintenance of wide range Fire Protection Equipment.
- Be the command and control in handling of Fire & Chemical emergencies.
- Conduct regular fire & safety inspections, audits, safe & unsafe work practices,
- Conducting various types of Fire & hazardous chemical mock drills, safety training, Safe & Unsafe behavioural discussions (SUSA), Evacuation drills etc.
