To lead the DevOps strategy for Automation platforms by building scalable CI/CD systems, enabling cloud-native deployments, and driving DevSecOps practices. This role ensures faster, reliable, and secure delivery of automation software across global mining systems.
Job Description:
We are looking for a technically strong and execution-focused Lead DevOps Engineer to establish and scale DevOps practices across Automation programs.
You will be responsible for designing enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and enabling seamless integration between embedded systems, control software, and digital platforms. This role plays a critical part in improving release velocity, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
This role is central to Epirocs automation roadmap, supporting the development of brand-agnostic, interoperable platforms that enable autonomous operations across global mining fleets.
Key Responsibilities:
CI/CD & Version Control
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps, or TeamCity
- Define and enforce Git workflows (branching strategy, code reviews, versioning)
- Automate build, test, and release pipelines across multiple programs
- Perform troubleshooting and RCA for pipeline failures and system issues
Containerization & Architecture
- Build and manage Docker-based deployment workflows
- Design CI/CD architectures supporting enterprise automation platforms
- Optimize deployment performance, reliability, and rollback strategies
Automation & Release Engineering
- Develop automation scripts using Python and Bash
- Enable advanced deployment strategies (rolling, canary, blue-green)
- Improve release cycle time, deployment quality, and traceability
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or related field
- 6 to 9 years of experience in DevOps / Platform Engineering
- Strong expertise in:
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps
- Version Control: Git (advanced workflows)
- Cloud: AWS / Azure
- Scripting: Python, Bash
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and RCA skills
- Experience working in Agile environments
Nice to Have:
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Provision and manage infrastructure on AWS/Azure
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for scalable environments
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and cost optimization
- Support hybrid architecture (edge + cloud) aligned to SDM/SDV strategy
Containerization & Architecture
- Work with Kubernetes for orchestration and service scalability
Monitoring & Operations
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks
- Ensure system uptime, performance, and incident response
- Analyze system metrics and drive reliability improvements (SRE mindset)
Security & Compliance (DevSecOps)
- Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines
- Manage access control, secrets, and compliance standards
- Ensure secure software delivery aligned to enterprise policies
- Exposure to Embedded automation platforms
- Understanding of MLOps / AI pipelines
- Experience with edge computing
- Knowledge of advanced deployment strategies
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR / control systems
- Exposure to Verification & Validation (V&V) in real-time / embedded / Automotive
- Experience in integrating test automation with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / Jenkins)
- Hands-on experience with test strategy, test planning, and defect triage/analysis
- (Robot, Selenium) in scalable pipeline environments
