Job Description

The Role

  • As Lead Platform Engineer you'll own our platform infrastructure end-to-end - from Infrastructure-as-Code foundations up to production operations.
  • This is an engineering role, not an operations role: you'll design and build IaC with the same discipline as application code - test-driven, peer-reviewed and validated via CI/CD.
  • You'll report to the Head of Engineering, and your customers are our development teams.

What You'll Do

  • Own platform infrastructure end-to-end, from IaC foundations to production operations.
  • Produce generic, reusable Terraform blueprints that microservices teams can easily consume.
  • Build and own a CI/CD pipeline for IaC changes.
  • Guide developers in configuring blueprints and implementing bespoke IaC within the guardrails you establish.
  • Advocate strong security and privacy - least-privilege and zero-trust by default; avoid long-lived credentials; own certificate/key rotation.
  • Build autoscaling and capacity plans that track real usage.
  • Champion pure IaC - no snowflakes, no manual fixes - catching and reconciling drift early with policy-as-code and plan-review discipline before every apply.
  • Plan and execute production changes via runbooks with tested rollback steps; run postmortems that turn incidents into improvements.

What You Bring

  • 5-10 years of platform delivery experience, with at least 5 years deep in AWS (ECR/ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, MSK/Kafka, Aurora Serverless, SNS/SQS, CloudFront, S3, R53, IAM).
  • Strong Terraform skills - composable modules and a genuine understanding of state and how Terraform works, not just how to write it.
  • Experience scaling SaaS from thousands to hundreds of thousands of users - building highly available, observable, elastic, resilient and secure systems.
  • Test-driven IaC (Terraform Test) and experience with infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience planning and executing security, performance, capacity and disaster-recovery testing.
  • Strong communication, planning and estimation; a pragmatic, high-ownership mindset suited to startups and scaleups.
  • Currently based in Bangalore with a reasonable commute to Koramangala; ready to start within 30 days (no relocations).

Nice to Have

  • SOC2 / ISO 27001 / GDPR controls experience; AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect - Professional or Security - Specialty; chaos engineering; AI infrastructure (RAG, multi-agent runtimes, sandboxing, credential brokering); CircleCI Orb development; strong Claude Code skills.

Location

In-office mostly at our WeWork Prestige Cube office in Koramangala, Bangalore. Relocation is welcome but you'll need to be within a short, reasonable commute of Koramangala of 30min or less during peak hour, or ready to move close soon. One honest constraint: we can't consider people who'd spend half their day in Bangalore traffic. We're not being precious about it — we just refuse to let traffic quietly eat your brain an hour at a time.
