Lead Data Scientist

Job Summary

We seek a Lead Data Scientist to drive our data science initiatives from concept to deployment. You will lead projects, mentor junior data scientists, and collaborate with stakeholders to leverage data for strategic decisions and product innovation in a growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development and deployment of machine learning models and data solutions.
• Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and validate model performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering technical excellence.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines for model training and inference.
• Stay updated on ML/AI advancements and advocate for their adoption.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to diverse audiences.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of Avivos data science capabilities.

Qualifications

• Masters or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Math).
• 5+ years of experience in data science, with proven project leadership.
• Deep understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Experience with data tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their ML services.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Mentoring or team leadership experience is a plus.
• Healthcare or insurance industry experience is a plus.
