Job Description

Role & responsibilities

As the Data Analyst Lead for our Financial Services division, you will bridge the gap

between complex financial transactional datasets and strategic executive decision-

making. You will lead a high-performing team of analysts dedicated to uncovering

trends across core banking products, wealth management systems, or digital fintech

applications.

This role requires deep expertise in handling massive, regulated data ecosystems,

advanced querying and automation skills, and the business acumen to navigate risk,

compliance, and product growth dynamics in the BFSI sector.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics Leadership & Team Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor a team of junior and mid-level data analysts, establishing high

standards for data storytelling, code optimization, and documentation.

  • Oversee code reviews for advanced SQL, Python, or R scripts to ensure

accuracy, security, and scalability.

  • Manage intake pipelines for ad-hoc business requests, prioritizing tasks based

on strategic business impact.

BI Strategy & Reporting Automation

  • Own the design and maintenance of enterprise-level dashboards (e.g., Tableau

or Power BI) tracking portfolio performance, customer lifetime value (CLV), and

operational efficiency.

  • Automate manual reporting processes to ensure near real-time visibility into

critical financial KPIs.

Financial Products & Risk Insights

  • Analyze customer behavior, segmenting portfolios to optimize cross-selling

strategies for loans, cards, deposits, or investment products.

  • Partner with other teams to track early-warning indicators of financial fraud, credit

delinquency, and market exposure.

  • Support regulatory data audits by providing clean, verifiable, and well-

documented data extracts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • Advanced SQL: Mastery of complex joins, window functions, CTEs, and query

optimization on transactional data.

  • BI Mastery: Advanced development experience in Power BI or Tableau, including

complex calculation logic (DAX/LOD expressions) and performance tuning.

  • Programming: Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation, statistical

analysis, and automated workflows.

BFSI Domain Knowledge & Soft Skills

  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of financial metrics such as Net Interest

Margin (NIM), Churn, Asset Under Management (AUM), Loan-to-Value (LTV)

ratios, or Delinquency roll-rates.

  • Data Governance: Familiarity with financial data privacy regulations, data

masking, and lineage frameworks.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to translate dense statistical findings into

simple, actionable strategies for non-technical senior executives.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative field such as Finance,

Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Data Analytics.

  • Overall Experience: Minimum 810 years of professional experience in data

analytics or business intelligence.

  • Domain Experience: At least 3+ years specifically embedded within a Bank,

Financial Services Institution, or Fintech company.

  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years of experience leading projects, managing direct

reports, or formally mentoring junior analysts.
