Job Purpose
This is a BA role within Group Operational Resilience IT team under CTS.The Group Operational Resilience IT team will focus on enhancing our technology resilience capabilities group-wide by building a Digital Operational Resilience Strategy founded on "Resilience by Design" principles. Initially focused on UK and EU regulation for the strategy rollout, the team will further help cover the adherence to firm-wide resilience standards as well as local regulatory requirements. The team will have an overarching goal of enhancing IT processes and tools in order boost resilience, reduce risk and strengthen the technology ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities
- This BA role will span across all pillars under IT Operational Resilience deliveries (Controls, Testing, Metrics, IBS/CIF governance and reporting).
- Work across IT-BU focusing on the IBS/CIFs (Important Business Services/Critical Impact Function)
- Work with IT application SMEs and business stakeholders to identify and document data flow across the organization for IBS/CIFs, capturing any technical challenges or opportunities. This is required to provide IT upkeep of the regulatory reporting and work with the teams to migrate to strategic solution.
- Support in implementing DORA uplifted policies and procedures in alignment with the strategy execution of Digital Operational testing plan.
- Participate in implementing governance on IBS/CIFs across applications/processes and ensure adherence on the same. Also work with stakeholders and assist with data governance tasks such as data cataloguing, data lineage, data policy enforcement, and data reporting.
- Metrics Reporting requirements. Develop, prepare, and manage materials and content for reporting, covering areas such as data initiatives, data issues management and KPIs (data governance, data quality)
- Perform quality assurance on established data quality controls and work with data stakeholders to identify and register systemic data quality issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to ongoing optimization efforts
- Working closely with internal business stakeholders and application teams across Business units for day-to-day processes or projects.
- Collaborating with global team members across regions and divisions, working effectively remotely and across time zones.
Qualification Core Skills requirement:
- S Strong individual with seasoned experience in business analysis role in Nomura.
With sufficient knowledge and understanding about Nomura applications processes.
- Good hands on experience in understanding and delivering regulatory project requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills enabling the individual to liaise effectively and share information with application teams and other key stakeholders.
- A self motivator who is a fast learner and able to work proactively to identify opportunities for process improvement and/or realising cost save.
- Must have good analytical skills and a strong attention to detail. The ability to question existing practises/procedures, ensuring efficiency and recognition of streamlining opportunities are all key.
- Understanding of data models, databases, and data structures.
- Ability to prioritise workload and the expectations to meet critical timely deliveries.
- Confidence to represent the department at any relevant internal meetings.
- Experience in transforming processes for efficiencies and risk management.
- Strong skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred, particularly in Excel VBA/macros to assist in automation and streamlining of processes.
