Landscape Designer

• Degree in Architecture, Landscape Designing
• Ability to manage contractor and gardening staff on Landscape Design projects, give instructions and get work done
• Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, maintain schedule and manage projects varying from 1 day to 6 months
• Should be willing to travel within the city to monitor projects

Role and Responsibilities:

• Establishing general landscape requirements with clients;
• Conducting preliminary inspection of the site and assessing a site s potential to meet the client s specifications;
• Accurately preparing and presenting detailed plans and working drawings, including applications, construction details and specifications for the project using computer-aided design (CAD) packages or similar design software;
• Creating and presenting design proposals to clients, dealing with enquiries and negotiating any amendments to the final design
• Matching the client s wishes with your knowledge of what will work best
• Contacting and coordinating manufacturers and suppliers for Landscaping work and garden accessories.
• Making site visits;
• Ensuring deadlines are met;
• Liaising with other professionals on the project;
• Monitoring and checking work on-site
• Attending public inquiries to give evidence if necessary;
• Generating new business opportunities.
• Supervises and directs grounds personnel by establishing schedules, assigning tasks, monitoring and reviewing projects to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Decides on the planting scheme for Landscape Designing
