KONG API Integration Engineer

Job Summary:

• We are looking for a skilled KONG API Integration Engineer to join our technology team.
• The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API integration, middleware architecture, and fraud domain knowledge.
• You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust API integrations using KONG Gateway and related middleware systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement REST API services following event-driven patterns and best practices Lead end-to-end KONG API integration including configuration, routing, plugins, and policy management Own and manage middleware (MW) systems as the primary point of accountability
• Perform content switching and parallel workstreams to ensure seamless delivery Collaborate with architects on Middleware API design decisions and standards Migrate and modernize legacy (old-to-new) API service architectures Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide status updates Handle technical aspects end-to-end from design to deployment
• Technical Requirements Core Technical Skills Event Pattern architecture and implementation experience Proficiency in REST API Service Coding and design (Old-to-New migration experience preferred)
• Strong hands-on experience with KONG API Gateway Complete understanding of Integration patterns and principles Good knowledge of Middleware (MW) API designs and architecture Domain & Platform Knowledge Understanding of Fraud Scenario workflows and domain-backed technical concepts
• Knowledge of SAS System architecture and operations Familiarity with new and emerging technologies in API/integration space Professional Skills Ability to handle content switching and manage parallel workstreams simultaneously Strong ownership mindset ability to independently own and drive middleware deliverables
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders Proactive problem-solver with strong analytical and debugging skills Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced MNC environment
