Senior Key Account Manager Telecom (SMPS & Li-ion Battery Systems)

Location

Gurgaon – Exicom Corporate Office

Reporting To

Sales Head – Critical Power / Telecom Business

Role Purpose

Own and grow strategic telecom accounts by driving revenue, managing complex stakeholder ecosystems, and converting technical solutions (SMPS, Li-ion battery systems, energy storage) into long-term commercial outcomes.
This role sits at the intersection of customer ownership, solution selling, and internal coordination.

Key Responsibilities


1. Key Account Ownership

  • Own end-to-end relationship with assigned telecom operators, tower companies, and system integrators.
  • Act as the single point of contact for commercial, technical, and escalation matters.
  • Build long-term account plans aligned with customer network expansion, technology refresh, and energy transition roadmaps.

2. Revenue & Order Intake

  • Drive order booking, revenue realisation, and collection targets for SMPS and Li-ion battery solutions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: opportunity identification techno-commercial closure order execution coordination.
  • Track funnel health, forecast accuracy, and closure timelines.

3. Solution Selling (SMPS & Li-ion)

  • Position Exicom’s SMPS power systems, Li-ion battery packs, BMS, and energy storage solutions based on customer use-cases (2G/4G/5G sites, IBS, data centres, shelters).
  • Translate customer RFQs, SoWs, and deployment constraints into viable technical-commercial proposals in coordination with Product, Engineering, and SCM teams.
  • Support technical discussions, PoCs, and trials where required.

4. Stakeholder Management

  • Interface with customer procurement, planning, network, O&M, and finance teams.
  • Internally coordinate with Product, R&D, QA, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure commitment alignment.
  • Handle escalations related to pricing, delivery, quality, and field issues with maturity and speed.

5. Commercial & Contract Management

  • Lead pricing discussions, cost-to-serve analysis, and margin protection.
  • Review and negotiate key commercial terms: payment milestones, LDs, warranties, service obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal approval matrices and governance.

6. Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Track competitor activity, price benchmarks, and technology shifts (Li-ion chemistries, power efficiency norms, Opex reduction models).
  • Provide structured feedback to Sales Head & CEO and Product teams for portfolio and pricing decisions.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • B.E./B.Tech (Electrical / Electronics / Power / Energy preferred)
  • MBA or equivalent commercial exposure is a plus

Experience

  • Experience in telecom power systems, batteries, energy storage, or infrastructure solutions
  • Proven exposure to large telecom accounts (operators, towercos, EPCs)
  • Experience handling high-value, multi-location deployments preferred

Core Competencies

  • Strong understanding of SMPS systems, Li-ion battery architecture, and telecom power requirements
  • Ability to balance technical depth with commercial discipline
  • Sharp negotiation skills with comfort in senior-level customer interactions
  • Structured, data-driven, and ownership-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable operating from the corporate office while managing pan-India accounts
