Job Summary
The Junior Billing & Estimation Engineer will assist in the preparation of project estimates, billing, and quantity calculations for construction projects. The role involves supporting senior engineers in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tracking project costs, processing contractor bills, and maintaining project documentation. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of civil engineering principles, strong analytical skills, and a willingness to learn construction billing and estimation processes.
Key Responsibilities
Billing Support
- Assist in preparing and processing contractor and client bills.
- Verify work quantities and supporting documents before bill submission.
- Help maintain billing records and ensure timely documentation.
Preparation of BOQs
- Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on project drawings and specifications.
- Update BOQs as per project revisions under the guidance of senior engineers.
Cost Estimation
- Support the preparation of project cost estimates by collecting data on materials, labour, and other project costs.
- Assist in preparing estimation sheets and cost comparison statements.
Rate Analysis
- Assist in conducting basic rate analysis for materials and labour.
- Support the evaluation of contractor quotations and vendor rates.
Work Order Coordination
- Assist in preparing and maintaining work orders.
- Track work order status and update records as required.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain proper records of bills, BOQs, contracts, work orders, and related project documents.
- Prepare reports and maintain estimation and billing databases.
Coordination
- Coordinate with project engineers, site teams, procurement, and contractors to collect project information.
- Clarify quantity measurements and billing-related queries with internal teams.
Compliance
- Ensure billing and estimation activities follow company procedures and contractual requirements.
- Adhere to quality and documentation standards.
Learning & Process Improvement
- Continuously learn company processes, billing systems, and estimation techniques.
- Support process improvement initiatives suggested by senior team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 02 years of experience in billing, estimation, quantity surveying, or construction projects (Freshers with internship experience may also apply).
- Basic understanding of BOQs, quantity take-offs, and construction drawings.
- Familiarity with MS Excel and basic estimation software is preferred.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision.

- Understanding of civil construction drawings and quantity calculations.
- Proficient in MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
