Position Overview
The Java Technical Lead Architect will lead the architecture, design, and development of retailcloud's core backend platform, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across multiple product lines, including Billing, FB, Mobile POS, Omni-Channel, and ERP integrations. The role is responsible for driving technical strategy, mentoring engineering teams, establishing architectural best practices, and delivering robust distributed systems that support the companys long-term growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement scalable, distributed microservices using Spring Boot and Java 8+.
  • Provide technical leadership, team building, mentoring, and guidance to the development team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design and optimize caching strategies, batch processing frameworks, and messaging systems.
  • Ensure high performance and scalability of databases with expertise in SQL and query optimization.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide reliable solutions for large-scale systems.
  • Introduce new architectural components and continuously improve overall system architecture
Requirements
  • Senior (8+ years), with prior experience as a Technical Lead or Architect on large-scale distributed systems
  • Proven experience architecting and building large-scale backend systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Core Java, microservices, Spring Boot, and messaging systems.
  • Expertise in database design, SQL, and query optimization.
  • Ability to debug complex issues and optimize system performance.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring tools.
  • Preferred: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and related cloud services.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with streaming platforms and high-volume data processing.
  • Preferred: Proven track record of building scalable, high-performance systems.
