About the Role :
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Java Technical Lead to lead the architecture, design, development, and delivery of large-scale enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Cloud Technologies, Distributed Systems, and Modern Software Engineering Practices.
This role requires a highly hands-on leader who can drive technical decisions, mentor engineering teams, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing applications.
The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of technical solutions, including system architecture, application development, performance optimization, code quality, security, DevOps practices, and production support.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Technical Leadership & Architecture :
- Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade applications using Java and modern frameworks.
- Define and drive application architecture, design principles, coding standards, and development best practices.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
- Conduct High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) reviews.
- Drive architecture discussions around scalability, security, fault tolerance, and performance.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools.
- Participate in solution architecture reviews and technical governance meetings.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards and security policies.
2. Application Development :
- Design and develop highly scalable Microservices-based applications.
- Build RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Develop reusable frameworks and shared components.
- Implement distributed systems capable of handling high transaction volumes.
- Drive code quality through peer reviews, automated testing, and coding standards.
- Ensure applications are optimized for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
3. Microservices & Distributed Systems :
- Design service-oriented and microservices architectures.
- Implement API Gateway, Service Discovery, Configuration Management, and Service Mesh patterns.
- Build resilient systems using : Circuit Breakers, Retry Mechanisms, Bulkhead Patterns, Fallback Strategies, Rate Limiting.
- Implement distributed transaction management using Saga Pattern.
- Design event-driven systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.
- Ensure observability through centralized logging, tracing, and monitoring.
4. Cloud & DevOps :
- Architect and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Design containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Drive automation initiatives across build, deployment, and infrastructure management.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless application deployment and monitoring.
5. Team Leadership & Mentoring :
- Lead a team of software engineers and technical specialists.
- Mentor developers on coding standards, design patterns, and best engineering practices.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance.
- Support hiring activities including technical interviews and candidate evaluation.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Assist project managers in effort estimation, sprint planning, and resource allocation.
6. Production Support & Reliability Engineering :
- Provide technical leadership during critical production incidents.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major issues.
- Drive continuous improvements based on operational insights.
- Implement proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
- Ensure system reliability, availability, and disaster recovery preparedness.
Required Technical Skills :
1. Core Java : Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11/17/21, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID Principles, Design Patterns, Collections Framework, Generics, Exception Handling, Functional Programming, Lambda Expressions, Streams API, Reflection API, Java Memory Model, Multithreading & Concurrency, Executor Framework, CompletableFuture, JVM Internals, Garbage Collection, Heap Analysis, Performance Tuning.
2. Spring Framework : Deep expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, Spring WebFlux, Spring AOP, Spring Actuator.
3. Microservices Architecture : Strong understanding of Service Discovery, API Gateway, Centralized Configuration, Distributed Transactions, Event-Driven Architecture, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Saga Pattern, Resilience4j, Distributed Caching.
4. Databases : Experience with Relational Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Redis). Skills Required : Query Optimization, Indexing Strategies, Partitioning, Replication, Transaction Management, Database Performance Tuning.
5. Messaging & Streaming : Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, AWS SQS/SNS. Knowledge of Event Streaming, Message Queues, Asynchronous Processing, Dead Letter Queues, Kafka Consumer Groups, Kafka Streams.
6. Cloud Technologies : AWS (Preferred). Hands-on experience with EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, IAM, Secrets Manager. Additional Cloud Experience : Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
7. Containerization & Orchestration : Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, OpenShift. Knowledge of Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Autoscaling, Rolling Updates.
8. DevOps & CI/CD : Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, Nexus, Artifactory.
9. Monitoring & Observability : Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, OpenTelemetry.
10. Preferred Domain Experience : Candidates with experience in Retail & E-Commerce, Banking & Financial Services, FinTech, Healthcare, Insurance, SaaS Platforms, Telecom will be preferred.
11. 12. Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Master's Degree preferred but not mandatory.
