VBJ-IT Infrastructure & Operations -Chennai & COIMBATORE
Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management:

Oversee the daily maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of IT infrastructure (servers, networking equipment, POS systems, etc.).

Ensure seamless connectivity between all retail locations via VPNs, firewalls, and network configurations.

Manage and support the installation, configuration, and upgrades of hardware and software for retail environments.

Retail Systems Support:

Provide technical support for Retail POS systems and related applications, ensuring 100% uptime.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues affecting retail operations.

Conduct regular preventive maintenance of IT hardware such as workstations, printers, scanners, etc.

Network & Server Administration:

Monitor and manage network traffic to ensure optimal performance and security.

Administer local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks in retail stores.

Maintain and configure server hardware, including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Vendor & Asset Management:

Coordinate with external vendors for hardware procurement, service, and support.

Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, including hardware and software.

Ensure timely renewal and management of software licenses and warranties.

System Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

Monitor system performance and implement necessary improvements.

Identify and resolve IT-related issues affecting retail store operations and minimize downtime.

Generate system health reports and ensure proactive issue resolution.

Security & Compliance:

Implement and monitor security protocols across all retail IT systems to ensure data security and privacy.

Work with the security team to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and standards (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).

Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including retail operations, IT, and support staff, to meet IT requirements.

Train retail staff on basic IT usage, POS operations, and troubleshooting.

Provide IT support during retail store events or launches.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of IT processes, network configurations, and troubleshooting guides.

Prepare and present regular reports on infrastructure performance, system uptime, and any issues encountered.

• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in networking (LAN, WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi).
• Hands-on experience with POS systems and retail-specific technologies.
• Experience in managing Windows/Linux servers, SQL databases, and Active Directory.
• Familiarity with firewalls, routers, switches, and other network devices.
• Knowledge of cloud-based systems, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and remote desktop services (RDP).
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning.
