Role Purpose
The IT Executive / Senior IT Executive will establish, maintain and support the Company's IT infrastructure, systems and
user environment at its pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role requires hands-on management of hardware, networks, software, cybersecurity, data backup, vendors and day-to-day technical support.
The Senior IT Executive will additionally be expected to independently plan IT requirements, supervise implementation
projects, manage vendors and contribute to IT policies and system controls suitable for a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure and maintain computers, laptops, printers, scanners and related IT equipment.
- Manage LAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, firewalls, switches, routers and structured-network infrastructure.
- Administer user accounts, access rights, official email accounts and shared data repositories.
- Provide timely technical support and resolve hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
- Maintain an updated inventory of IT assets, software licences, warranties, configurations and assigned users.
- Coordinate implementation and support of ERP, HRMS, attendance, accounting and other business applications.
- Support CCTV, access-control, biometric-attendance and intercom systems with departments and vendors.
- Implement and monitor antivirus, endpoint security, password, patch-management and data-protection controls.
- Establish and maintain data-backup, restoration and disaster-recovery arrangements.
- Coordinate with software, internet, hardware and infrastructure vendors and monitor service performance.
- Prepare user requirement specifications, technical comparisons, scope documents and IT procurement recommendations.
- Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, access records, service logs and preventive-maintenance schedules.
- Assist departments with controlled electronic records, audit trails, data integrity and access controls required in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Develop and implement IT policies, SOPs and user guidelines, and conduct basic cybersecurity training.
- Promptly report system failures, security incidents, unauthorised access or material data risks to management.
Additional Responsibilities - Senior IT Executive
- Assess current and future IT infrastructure requirements and lead implementation, upgrade and digitalisation projects.
- Evaluate vendors, commercial proposals and technical solutions.
- Develop cybersecurity, business-continuity and disaster-recovery plans.
- Coordinate IT requirements across departments and ensure timely project execution.
- Supervise junior IT personnel and external service providers, where applicable.
- Periodically review system performance, risks, access controls and regulatory readiness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Applications or a related discipline.
- IT Executive: preferably 2-4 years of relevant hands-on experience.
- Senior IT Executive: preferably 5-8 years of relevant experience, including independent responsibility for IT infrastructure and vendors.
- Experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical organisation will be preferred.
- Certifications in networking, Microsoft systems, cybersecurity or cloud administration will be an advantage.
Required Skills
- Practical knowledge of computer hardware, Windows systems and office applications.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN, routers, switches and firewalls.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, email administration and cloud storage.
- Understanding of cybersecurity, endpoint protection, backups and access management.
- Ability to troubleshoot independently and coordinate effectively with vendors.
- Sound documentation, communication and problem-solving skills; ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, CCTV infrastructure and pharmaceutical data-integrity expectations will be preferred.
Key Performance Indicators
- IT system and network availability; response and resolution time for reported issues.
- Completion of IT projects within approved timelines.
- Accuracy of IT asset and access-control records.
- Effectiveness of backup and cybersecurity controls.
- Vendor performance, cost control, user satisfaction and compliance with IT policies.
