Intern - Data Analyst

BOT VFX

POSITION SUMMARY

This is an internship role that requires competence in analyzing and interpreting data to support business decision-making. The role emphasizes strong SQL expertise, critical thinking, and core data analysis skills, with opportunities to gain hands-on exposure to automation and AI/ML concepts. Interns will work closely with the BI and data teams to extract insights, automate workflows, and explore predictive analytics. Position is on-site in Chennai.

Required Skills:

SQL basic knowledge on query writing, joins, aggregations, and optimization.
An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and critical thinking.
Basic exposure to Python for data analysis and automation.
Awareness of AI/ML fundamentals (regression, classification, clustering, etc.).
Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau and Looker is a plus.

Project work includes:

Extracting, cleaning, and analyzing datasets.
Preparing dashboards and business reports.
Identifying data trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
Supporting automation of reporting workflows.
Learning and applying AI/ML basics in practical scenarios.

Responsibilities include:

Work with Mysql to extract, clean, and analyze datasets
Support the creation of interactive dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
Validate data accuracy and assist in identifying inconsistencies.
Develop automation workflows using Python/Google Sheets/Excel VBA/Apps Script.
Assist in exploratory data analysis and ML feature preparation.
Maintain productivity while meeting deadlines and ensuring quality outputs.

Technical Skills:

SQL (Basics).
Python or R (for analysis & automation).
Google Sheets, Excel (Intermediate).
BI/Visualization tools (Tableau, Looker).
Basic ML libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, etc.) are a plus.

These are not mandatory. Familiarity or willingness to explore the above tools is valued.

Ability to present insights in a simple, structured manner.

Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.
