Position: Intern Interior Designer (Internship to Full-Time Opportunity)

Location: Mumbai

Duration: 6 months internship

Internship Overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Intern Interior Designer to join our team. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to convert into a full-time position based on performance and business requirements.


About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Interior Design Intern to join our design team focused on luxury villas, estates, and high-end residential developments. The role offers hands-on exposure to the complete interior design lifecycleconcept development, space planning, material selection, detailed drawings, site coordination, and delivering a refined, client-centric luxury living experience.

You will work closely with senior interior designers, architects, project managers, and consultants to create world-class interiors that emphasize craftsmanship, bespoke detailing, functionality, and contemporary luxury aesthetics.


Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Concept Development

Assist in developing interior design concepts, mood boards, color palettes, and material narratives for luxury residential projects.

Support senior designers in space planning, furniture layouts, and design visualization.

Assist in preparing 3D views, renders, and presentations for internal and client reviews.

Contribute creative ideas for layouts, finishes, lighting concepts, and overall interior design themes.


2. Drafting & Documentation

Assist in preparing interior drawings including layout plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and detailed joinery drawings using AutoCAD/Revit.

Support preparation of GFC (Good for Construction) drawings and coordination drawings.

Assist in design documentation, specifications, and tender / execution drawing sets.


3. Material & Product Research

Research premium materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, fixtures, and soft furnishings suited to luxury interiors.

Assist in preparing material boards, sample sets, BOQs, and specifications.

Stay updated on global interior design trends, luxury brands, and bespoke design solutions.


4. Coordination

Coordinate with architects, MEP, lighting, and landscape teams for seamless design integration.

Support interaction with vendors, fabricators, carpenters, and suppliers to ensure design intent is executed accurately.

Participate in client meetings, take notes, and assist in presentation preparation.


5. Site Exposure

Attend site visits to understand execution, detailing, and quality benchmarks.

Assist in site measurements, progress documentation, and verification of interior works.

Review mock-ups, finishes, furniture samples, and craftsmanship details on site.


Skills & Qualifications

Education

Final Year Student or recently completed a Degree/Diploma in Interior Design or a related field.


Technical Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, MS Projects, Excel, PowerPoint.

Knowledge with Revit, Archicad, Photoshop, Coral Draw, Adobe illustrator are beneficial but not required


Soft Skills

Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.

Good communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Proactive mindset with eagerness to learn and adapt.
