The Indian Vocal Music Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality vocal music education to students. Day-to-day tasks include planning lessons, teaching Indian vocal techniques and songs, preparing students for performances and exams, and providing feedback to support their musical growth. The role also involves organising and conducting music workshops and participating in school events. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Dehradun.. Key Responsibilities:. Teach Indian classical and semi-classical vocal music to students across different age groups and skill levels.. Conduct both individual and group lessons, focusing on voice training, raga development, and performance techniques.. Introduce students to the theoretical aspects of Indian classical music including ragas, talas, and compositions.. Prepare students for internal/external competitions, examinations, and cultural events.. Encourage creativity through improvisation, traditional compositions, and fusion experiments where appropriate.. Collaborate with other faculty members for interdisciplinary projects, school assemblies, concerts, and annual events.. Stay updated with new teaching methodologies, repertoire, and contemporary trends in Indian music education.. Requirements:. Degree/Diploma in Indian Classical Music (Vocal) from a recognized university or Institution.. Strong command over ragas, talas, and traditional compositions (Khyal, Dhrupad, Tarana, Bhajan, Semi-classical forms).. Minimum 05 years of teaching/performance experience.. Ability to teach students of varying levels beginners to advanced.. Good communication skills in English/Hindi. Preferred Skills:. Experience in preparing students for music board examinations (e.g. Prayag Sangeet Samiti).. Ability to accompany on harmonium/tanpura.. Stage performance experience at regional/national level..
