This role serves as the primary strategic and operational link between corporate HR mandates and factory-floor realities. The ideal candidate will champion workforce productivity, maintain labor compliance, and foster a collaborative, hazard-free workplace culture for both blue-collar and white-collar personnel.Key Responsibilities Industrial Relations & Union Management

  • Maintain Harmony: Serve as the primary point of contact for local labor unions, handling grievances, disputes, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Conflict Resolution: Investigate workplace misconduct, chair internal disciplinary inquiries, and resolve floor-level employee grievances quickly.
  • Contract Management: Audit third-party contractors to verify valid licensing, fair wage distribution, and compliance with statutory laws.

Statutory & Legal Compliance

  • Regulatory Alignment: Ensure the plant operates in 100% compliance with [insert regional laws, e.g., The Factories Act, OSHA guidelines, State Labor Codes].
  • Audit Management: Maintain hyper-accurate registers for attendance, wages, overtime, and social security to pass sudden government inspections.
  • Risk Mitigation: Advise plant leadership on legal implications regarding hiring, termination, and changes to factory working conditions.

Workforce Safety & Employee Welfare

  • Safety Partnership: Collaborate with EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) teams to enforce zero-accident floor protocols and ensure 100% usage of PPE.
  • Welfare Operations: Oversee factory-floor amenities including the staff canteen, medical room, employee transport, and sanitation facilities.
  • Incident Response: Administer workers compensation claims, file accident reports to authorities, and coordinate return-to-work timelines.

Shift Management, Payroll & Admin

  • Shift Optimization: Work with production heads to manage rotating shift rosters, track absenteeism, and secure backup labor to prevent downtime.
  • Payroll Input Verification: Monitor time-office tracking systems to verify attendance bonuses, night-shift allowances, and overtime payouts.
  • Budgeting: Manage the local plant HR budget, optimizing costs related to welfare, temporary labor hiring, and local community outreach.

Talent Acquisition & Training

  • Blue-Collar Sourcing: Build local recruitment pipelines to quickly source skilled, semi-skilled, and apprentice floor operators.
  • Skills Development: Identify technical skills gaps on the line and coordinate technical, machine-safety, and digital-upskilling certifications.
  • Onboarding: Conduct mandatory safety-first inductions and medical screening protocols for all incoming facility hires.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Laws, or an MBA in HR is highly preferred.
  • Experience: [X]+ years of HR experience, with at least [X] years directly spent managing human resources inside a manufacturing plant, heavy industrial facility, or distribution center.
