Head Quality Control

The Quality Head will be completely responsible for driving end-to-end quality assurance, ensuring absolute product conformance to national and international standards (BIS/IS), drastically reducing rejections, and mentoring a robust shift-based QC team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Control & Process: Drive rejection control improvement across all product lines using root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions (CAPA). Ensure zero-error tolerances in pipe size checking and validation.
• Inventory Control: Implement strict governance on the mill floor for the segregation of hold pipes (OK vs. Rejected categories).
• Complaint Management: Substantially reduce quality complaints across Export, Domestic, and OEM segments against monthly targets.
• Team Leadership: Manage shift-wise deployment of QC Checkers, establish clear inspection frameworks, and conduct regular training to upgrade team capability.
• Audits & Compliance: Seamlessly spearhead internal and external quality audits. Ensure timely closure of non-conformance reports (NCR) and lead the punctual renewal of BIS/IS licenses.
• Safety: Champion zero-accident practices across the plant floor and dedicated QC zones.

Key Performance Indicators (KRAs):

• Reduction in overall product rejection percentage.
• Zero-error target delivery on pipe size validation.
• On-time closure of audit non-conformances.
• On-time renewal percentage of Indian and International licenses.
• Total training man-days delivered to the QC crew.

Required Candidate Profile:

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering. Additional certifications like Six Sigma or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor will be highly preferred.
• Experience: 15+ years of core quality experience specifically within Iron & Steel Pipe Manufacturing plants.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep, working expertise in BIS/IS regulatory standards for steel pipes, statistical process control, and running comprehensive inspection/testing frameworks.
