Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Define and own the organization's product vision, strategy, roadmap, and product portfolio in alignment with business objectives.
- Identify market opportunities, customer needs, competitive trends, and emerging technologies to drive product growth.
- Lead the complete product lifecycle from discovery and validation through development, launch, growth, optimization, and retirement.
- Establish product priorities based on customer value, business impact, market opportunity, technical feasibility, and investment requirements.
- Own and track key product metrics including revenue, adoption, retention, engagement, conversion, churn, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Develop product business cases, pricing strategies, monetization models, and go-to-market plans.
- Partner closely with engineering, design, data, marketing, sales, customer success, finance, and operations to deliver successful products.
- Build and manage a high-performing product management organization, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
- Establish product-management processes, frameworks, governance, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Lead customer and user research, product discovery, experimentation, usability testing, and validation of new product opportunities.
- Drive Product-Market Fit, product adoption, customer retention, and sustainable product-led growth.
- Oversee product launches and coordinate Go-to-Market (GTM) activities across marketing, sales, customer success, and operations.
- Use product analytics and customer insights to identify opportunities and make data-driven product decisions.
- Manage product budgets, resources, dependencies, risks, and strategic investments.
- Present product strategy, roadmap, performance, investment requirements, and business outcomes to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders where applicable.
- Evaluate and incorporate AI, Generative AI, automation, cloud, and other emerging technologies into the product strategy where they create meaningful customer or business value.
- Manage product portfolio rationalization and ensure resources are allocated to the highest-impact initiatives.
- Establish strong feedback loops with customers, sales teams, support teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Drive continuous product improvement based on market feedback, analytics, experimentation, and business performance.
- Ensure products meet required standards for security, privacy, compliance, scalability, accessibility, and reliability.
Preferred candidate profile
- 8 to 13 years of experience in product management, product strategy, product development, or technology-led business roles.
- Proven progression through roles such as Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, Lead/Group Product Manager, or Product Director.
- Demonstrated ownership of product strategy, roadmap, product launches, adoption, revenue, and business outcomes.
- Experience managing multiple products, product lines, or a significant product portfolio.
- Strong understanding of product discovery, customer research, product-market fit, prioritization, experimentation, and product analytics.
- Proven experience building and executing product roadmaps and long-term product strategies.
- Strong commercial understanding of pricing, monetization, unit economics, revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
- Experience working closely with engineering and UX/design teams in Agile/Scrum product-development environments.
- Strong data-driven decision-making skills with experience using product analytics, KPIs, OKRs, A/B testing, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and customer insights.
- Experience launching and scaling products in B2B, B2C, SaaS, fintech, ecommerce, enterprise software, or technology platforms is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Go-to-Market strategy, positioning, competitive analysis, and market expansion.
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and managing product managers and product leaders.
- Exceptional stakeholder-management and executive-communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership without direct authority.
- Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, customer orientation, analytical ability, and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing product budgets, resources, vendors, strategic partnerships, and cross-functional dependencies.
- Exposure to AI/ML, Generative AI, APIs, cloud platforms, data products, or platform products is highly desirable for technology-focused organizations.
- Ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, engineering constraints, and time-to-market.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Business, Economics, or a related discipline; MBA/PGDM is advantageous.
- Product Management, Agile, Scrum, or relevant industry certifications are an added advantage.
