Job Description

The Head of Affordability and Partnerships will architect and execute the strategic vision for making our ecosystem of products and devices accessible to a broader consumer base.

This leadership role sits at the intersection of fintech, strategic alliances, and product innovation.

You will own the lifecycle of banking and Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) partnerships, drive consumer-facing affordability programs (such as No-Cost EMI, buy-now-pay-later, and leasing), and leverage technology to optimize our trade-in and multi-device buying experiences.

Role & responsibilities

1. Strategic Banking & NBFC Alliances

  • Program Ownership: Design, negotiate, and scale consumer finance programs (No-Cost EMIs, low-cost consumer durable loans) with Tier-1 banks and NBFCs.

  • Commercial Negotiation: Drive commercial terms with financial partners to minimize subvention costs (the fee paid to lenders for low/no-interest loans) while maximizing approvals and customer acquisition.

  • Integration & Scalability: Partner with product and engineering teams to ensure deep API integrations with banks for instant credit decisions and seamless checkout journeys.

2. Affordability Innovation & Accessibility

  • Next-Gen Affordability Tools: Conceptualize and deploy disruptive affordability frameworks (e.g., subscription models, device-as-a-service, or guaranteed buy-back programs) to lower the barrier to entry for flagship devices.

  • Market Mapping: Identify underserved customer segments and develop tailored credit-vouching or alternative data underwriting partnerships to expand credit access.

  • 3. Lifecycle & Experience Optimization (Trade-In & Multi-Device)

  • Trade-In Product Evolution: Own the strategic and technological roadmap for the device Upgrade/Trade-In program, turning old devices into upfront currency for new purchases.

  • Multi-Device Ecosystem Buying: Architect tech-driven bundles and multi-device credit lines that encourage consumers to purchase multiple ecosystem products simultaneously with a single, consolidated monthly payment.

  • Also lead all the tech developments to ensure that norms and checks for operating schemes ensuring the right system led qualifiers are checked before offer approval.

  • Also responsible that all commercials reconciliations at partners are managed.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in Partnerships, FinTech, Consumer Durable Lending, or E-commerce Affordability roles.

  • FinTech Ecosystem Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the NBFC/Banking landscape, digital lending guidelines, credit risk fundamentals, and integration architectures.

  • Product-Thinking Capabilities: Proven track record of working with product/tech teams to translate complex financial products into frictionless UI/UX checkout journeys.

  • Analytical Rigor: Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to balance subvention costs, average order value (AOV) lift, and conversion rates to maintain program profitability.
