Job Description Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating Developer

We are looking for a skilled Guidewire PolicyCenter (PC) Rating Developer with strong experience in designing and implementing rating logic within the Guidewire ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement rating logic in Guidewire PolicyCenter
  • Work extensively on:
    • Rating Engine configuration
    • Rate books, worksheets, and pricing algorithms
    • Product Model components (coverages, modifiers, pricing rules)
  • Customize rating logic using Gosu scripting
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand pricing requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Perform unit testing and support system/integration testing cycles
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to rating and pricing calculations
  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and deployment activities
  • Ensure adherence to Guidewire standards and best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong hands-on experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating
  • Expertise in:
    • Rating Engine configuration
    • Gosu programming
    • Product Model (especially rating-related components)
  • Solid understanding of P&C Insurance domain
  • Experience working on Policy lifecycle (Quote Bind Issue)
  • Good knowledge of data model extensions and business rules
  • Familiarity with Agile (Scrum / SAFe) methodologies
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud / Digital (JDP)
  • Knowledge of Guidewire BillingCenter or ClaimCenter
  • Experience in rating optimization or pricing strategy implementation
  • Exposure to North American insurance market
  • Experience in Guidewire upgrades (e.g., GW10 / Palisade)
  • Guidewire certification
Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
