Job Description
About the role :
We are building StAR MF a net-new, event-driven rebuilding of BSE's mutual-fund distribution and settlement platform. It keeps the existing external API contract and data surface (so members, RTAs and depositories are unaffected) while rebuilding the internals as a Kafka-backed, service-per-domain system designed for market-infrastructure scale.
This is not a maintenance role. You will be shaping and writing the code that moves lakh-crore order and settlement flows through Kafka queues, an exactly-once money path, and a double-entry ledger that is the system of record.
Required Qualifications :
- Must-have 2+ years building backend systems, with strong, recent, hands-on Go (concurrency, channels, context, profiling not just "familiar with").
- Production experience with Kafka : partitioning, consumer groups, delivery semantics, schema evolution, and the failure modes that bite in practice.
- Event-driven / distributed systems design: outbox, idempotency, sagas, eventual consistency, CQRS read models. PostgreSQL at scale — schema design, indexing, sharding, transactions/isolation.
- Demonstrated technical leadership: leading a team, driving design reviews, mentoring, and shipping under real constraints — while still writing code yourself.
- Solid instincts for testing, observability, and operability in production. Nice-to-have Exactly once / financial-ledger or double-entry accounting systems.
- Capital markets, payments, fintech, or other regulated, high-throughput domains.
- Open Telemetry, gRPC/ Protobuf, JOSE/JWE or applied crypto on API surfaces.
- Multi-AZ / cross-region DR, active-active design. AWS (MSK, EKS, RDS) and Terraform / IaC
