General background: The ideal candidate is an engineering graduate with a post-graduate qualification in Operations having 15 -20 years experience including at least 5 plus years as a Head Production & Maintenance position. The ideal candidate should be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Production & maintenance operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. The incumbent must have worked in a Casting company with a CNC machine shop having machines like multi axis VMCs, HMCs, 5 axis machines & turning machines in multiple site locations. Proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, improving manufacturing processes, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with company objectives to maximize productivity.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and evaluate manufacturing performance, maintain OEE, OTIF Quality levels, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of manufacturing plans.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization, to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality. Drive production planning and achieve operational efficiencies with tools such as JIT, KANBAN, Pull System etc.
• Must have in-depth exposure to PFMEA / PPAP / FAIR etc.
• Responsible for production planning and ensuring preventive maintenance is carried out at regular intervals.
• Manage customer audits and ensure necessary corrective actions are taken. Manage customer queries and guide them through the manufacturing process and operations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, promoting a safe work environment and implementing appropriate training programs and safety measures.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in manufacturing, implementing innovative solutions to enhance competitiveness and drive growth.
• Maintain effective communication channels with internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on production performance, challenges, and opportunities.
• Assists in new product launches, production and engineering improvements, product quality.
• Works closely with peers to focus on continuous improvements that will benefit Operations.
• Lead and facilitate monthly safety meetings and lead/assist in the resolution of safety items.

Leadership: The candidate will need to show leadership ability to drive transformational cultural change to enable the production & maintenance to deliver operational efficiency. Demonstrate ability to identify and mitigate operational risks and ensure effective functioning.
