Job Description
Position: General Counsel / GM / VP Legal
Location: Bangalore
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end legal functions across land acquisition, title due diligence, deal structuring, contracts, litigation, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Handle high-value land transactions, Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), GPAs, sale deeds, EPC/vendor contracts, and investment agreements.
- Drive RERA registrations, statutory approvals, and ensure compliance with applicable real estate laws.
- Manage litigation before RERA, Consumer Forums, Civil Courts, High Court, and other judicial authorities.
- Advise senior leadership on legal strategy, business risks, governance, and regulatory matters.
- Build and lead the legal function while managing external counsel and legal risk reporting.
Desired Profile:
- LLB/LLM with active enrollment as an Advocate with the Bar Council.
- 20+ years of legal experience, including at least 10 years in the real estate industry.
- Strong expertise in Karnataka land laws, title due diligence, RERA, property documentation, litigation, and corporate legal matters.
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex JDAs, development agreements, EPC contracts, and customer documentation.
- Hands-on exposure to litigation management and regulatory compliance.
