Furniture Designer

Role & responsibilities

Furniture Design & Innovation

• Design unique, premium, and market-differentiated furniture collections.
• Create concepts for sofas, recliners, dining tables, office furniture, accent chairs, storage units, and custom interior solutions.
• Develop furniture that balances aesthetics, ergonomics, manufacturability, and sustainability.
• Research global furniture trends, materials, and emerging design directions.

3D Design & Visualization

• Create detailed 3D furniture models.
• Develop photorealistic renders and presentation visuals.
• Produce manufacturing-ready CAD drawings and technical documentation.
• Generate exploded views, dimensions, and production files.

AR/VR & Interior Visualization

• Design furniture layouts based on customer room dimensions and photographs.
• Prepare optimized 3D assets for AR/VR experiences.
• Work on virtual room staging and furniture placement simulations.
• Support Apple Vision Pro and future AR/VR catalog development.

Customer-Centric Design

• Interpret customer requirements and space constraints.
• Recommend furniture configurations based on room size and functionality.
• Create customized furniture solutions for residential and commercial spaces.

Startup & Product Development

• Work closely with founders to build the product portfolio from scratch.
• Participate in rapid prototyping and product validation.
• Contribute ideas beyond design, including customer experience, branding, and innovation.
• Take ownership and work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

Required Skills

Furniture Design

• Strong understanding of furniture construction and materials.
• Knowledge of ergonomics, proportions, and usability.
• Experience designing premium furniture products.

CAD & 3D Modeling

Must be proficient in at least some of the following:

• Fusion 360
• SolidWorks
• Rhino
• AutoCAD
• SketchUp
• Blender
• 3ds Max

Rendering & Visualization

• V-Ray
• Lumion
• Enscape
• Twinmotion
• KeyShot
• Blender Rendering

AR/VR Readiness

Knowledge of any of the following is highly preferred:

• Apple Vision Pro workflows
• ARKit
• Reality Composer Pro
• Unity
• Unreal Engine
• Spatial design workflows
• USDZ file preparation

Additional Skills

• Interior space planning
• Material selection
• Technical drawing preparation
• Design presentation creation
• Prototype development support
