About the Role

We are building an online gaming platform offering multiple card and table games — Poker, Teen Patti, Rummy, and other variants — across web and mobile. We are looking for a hands-on, full-stack engineer who can own the product end to end: from game logic and real-time multiplayer infrastructure to wallet, payments, admin tooling, and deployment.

This is a builder's role. You will be the primary engineer taking the platform from concept to a live, production-grade product. You should be comfortable working independently across the entire stack — frontend, backend, real-time servers, databases, DevOps, and security — and making sound architectural decisions on your own. As the team grows, you may lead and mentor additional engineers.

We are flexible on years of experience (2 to 15 years). What matters most is demonstrated ability to design and ship a complete, scalable, secure multiplayer gaming product. Candidates with prior gaming, fantasy sports, or card-game platform experience are strongly preferred.

Key ResponsibilitiesGame Development

  • Design and implement complete game logic and rule engines for Poker (Texas Hold'em, Omaha), Teen Patti, Rummy (Points, Pool, Deals), and additional variants.
  • Build a provably fair, secure Random Number Generator (RNG) for card shuffling and dealing, with auditable logs and seed handling.
  • Implement turn management, betting rounds, pot/side-pot calculation, hand evaluation, scoring, and game-state synchronization.
  • Develop matchmaking, lobbies, table management, tournaments (SnG/MTT), and leaderboards.

Real-Time Multiplayer Infrastructure

  • Architect low-latency, real-time multiplayer using WebSockets / Socket.IO / WebRTC with authoritative server-side game state.
  • Handle concurrency, reconnection, disconnection/abandonment rules, latency compensation, and anti-cheat at the network layer.
  • Ensure horizontal scalability to support thousands of concurrent tables and players.

Backend & APIs

  • Build robust backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs for auth, profiles, game services, and wallet.
  • Design and maintain relational and in-memory data stores; ensure transactional integrity for all money movements.
  • Implement caching, queues, and event-driven services for performance and reliability.

Frontend & Mobile

  • Build responsive, polished game UIs for web (and PWA); deliver native or cross-platform mobile (Android/iOS) clients.
  • Implement smooth game animations and rendering (HTML5 Canvas / WebGL / a game engine such as Phaser, PixiJS, or Unity).
  • Optimize for low-end devices and unreliable networks (common in target markets).

Wallet, Payments & Operations

  • Build a secure in-app wallet with deposits, withdrawals, bonuses, transaction history, and double-entry ledgering.
  • Integrate international payment gateways (cards, net banking, wallets) and payout systems with reconciliation.
  • Implement secure user verification, fraud detection, anti-collusion, and bot-detection systems.
  • Design the wallet, currency/credits, and game configuration as flexible, region-aware modules, with clean separation between game logic, balances, and settings so the platform can be adapted to different markets and modes.

Admin, Analytics & Operations

  • Build admin and back-office panels for player management, game configuration, transactions, bonuses, and reporting.
  • Integrate analytics, logging, monitoring, and alerting; define key product and revenue metrics.

DevOps, Security & Reliability

  • Own CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containerization, and deployment end to end.
  • Implement security best practices: encryption, secure auth, rate limiting, DDoS protection, and audit trails.
  • Ensure high availability, backups, disaster recovery, and incident response.

Technical QualificationsCore Engineering

  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language: Node.js / TypeScript, Go, Java, Python, or C#/.NET (Node.js + TypeScript preferred for real-time).
  • Solid frontend skills: JavaScript/TypeScript, React (or Angular/Vue), HTML5, CSS3, responsive design.
  • Proven experience with real-time communication: WebSockets, Socket.IO, or similar, with authoritative server architecture.
  • Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and OOP, particularly as applied to game logic and hand evaluation.

Game & Real-Time Tech

  • Experience building multiplayer game logic, state machines, and server-authoritative game loops.
  • Familiarity with a rendering/game framework: Phaser, PixiJS, Cocos2d, or Unity (a plus).
  • Understanding of RNG, provable fairness, and anti-cheat/anti-collusion techniques.

Databases & Caching

  • Relational databases: PostgreSQL or MySQL — schema design, transactions, indexing, query optimization.
  • In-memory / NoSQL: Redis (sessions, pub/sub, leaderboards), and optionally MongoDB.
  • Message queues / streaming: Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Redis Streams (a plus).

Cloud, DevOps & Tooling

  • Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure — compute, networking, load balancing, auto-scaling.
  • Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes a plus); CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
  • Git and disciplined version control, code review, and testing practices.

Payments & Security

  • Experience integrating payment gateways and building secure wallet/ledger systems.
  • Knowledge of application security: OWASP Top 10, secure authentication (JWT/OAuth2), encryption, and PCI-DSS awareness.
  • Awareness of secure user verification (KYC) and fraud-prevention best practices for online platforms.

Strong full-stack fundamentals; has shipped at least one real-time or multiplayer feature/product. Can build core game logic and APIs independently with light guidance on architecture.

4 – 8 yrs

Has independently built and deployed a complete real-time multiplayer or gaming product. Owns architecture, payments/wallet, scaling, and security decisions end to end.

8 – 15 yrs

Has led design and delivery of large-scale gaming or transactional platforms. Sets technical direction, mentors others, and owns reliability, security, and cost at scale.

Minimum requirement: 2 years of professional software development experience.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional full-stack development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and ship a product end to end, working independently — frontend, backend, database, real-time layer, and deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time multiplayer (WebSockets or equivalent).
  • Experience with secure handling of transactions / payments / wallets.
  • A portfolio, GitHub, or live products demonstrating relevant work.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience at a gaming, fantasy sports, or card-game company.
  • Experience with RNG design, game audits, and provable fairness testing.
  • Experience building anti-fraud, anti-collusion, or bot-detection systems.
  • Great to have: ability to build the mobile app version end to end too — taking the same games/website into a full native or cross-platform Android & iOS app, including UI, real-time gameplay, payments/wallet, and app-store publishing and release management — built and owned single-handedly alongside the web platform.
  • Mobile app development and app-store deployment experience (Android/iOS), ideally with React Native, Flutter, or native (Kotlin/Swift).
  • Experience scaling systems to high concurrency (tens of thousands of simultaneous users).
