Aboutthe Role:
Primary responsibility is to create a dynamic learningenvironment that fosters students linguistic skills in listening, speaking,reading, and writing in French. Beresponsible for implementing the CHIREC academic vision committed to thehighest standards of student success.
Whatyou will be doing:
Create a safe and caring learning environment.
Maintain effective classroom programs and establish classroom rules.
Promote the improvement of teaching and learning in the school.
Teach French as per the curriculum to students in classes 6 to 10.
Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons to develop students language skills in French.
Focus on improving students grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation skills.
Integrate cultural understanding and aspects of French-speaking countries into lessons to provide a holistic language learning experience.
Establish a positive, encouraging classroom environment that promotes participation and language acquisition.
Ensure discipline in the classroom while fostering a supportive atmosphere for learning.
Design and conduct regular assessments, quizzes, and tests to evaluate students language proficiency.
Provide constructive feedback to students on their progress, focusing on areas of improvement.
Maintain detailed records of student performance and report to parents or guardians as required.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and resources in line with the school s curriculum and language learning goals.
Adapt and modify lesson plans to meet the varied learning needs of students.
Offer additional help to students who may need extra support in learning French, either through individual sessions or group activities.
Encourage students to engage with the French language outside of class through language clubs, films, and other resources.
Participate in or organize extracurricular activities related to French, such as French language clubs, cultural exchange programs, and language competitions.
Encourage students to participate in French language events, quizzes, and cultural programs.
Keep updated with the latest teaching strategies, curriculum changes, and developments in language education.
Participate in school-basedand external professional development programs to improve teaching skills.
Whowe are looking for
Bachelor s degree in French (B.A. French or equivalent) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.
Proven experience of teaching French at themiddle and senior school level.
Enthusiastic about teaching French and passionate about the French language and culture.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Strong command over the French language, both written and spoken.
Familiarity with French curriculum and language proficiency exams.
Proficiency in using digital tools and educational technology for teaching purposes.
Ability to create a supportive and interactive classroom environment.
