Job Description
About the Role
We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with our enterprise customers, to make our platform work for their specific use cases. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role centered on two things: crafting and fine-tuning prompts so our AI/enterprise offering perform reliably against real client workflows, and building the integrations that connect our platform into the customer's existing systems. You'll own deployments end-to-end—from understanding the customer's problem to a working, production-grade solution running in their environment.
What You'll Do
- Design, fine-tune, and iterate on prompts to adapt our enterprise offering to each client's specific use cases, data, and quality bar.
- Run structured prompt experimentation—testing variations, measuring output quality, and systematically improving accuracy and reliability for the customer's scenarios.
- Build and maintain integrations between our platform and customer systems (APIs, webhooks, data pipelines, internal tools, and third-party services).
- Embed with customer teams to understand their workflows and constraints, then translate ambiguous requirements into concrete technical solutions.
- Own deployments end-to-end: discovery, solution design, prompt engineering, integration build, testing, and production rollout.
- Troubleshoot issues in live customer environments—debugging integrations, refining prompts that underperform, and resolving data or workflow mismatches.
- Present solutions and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and document your work for repeatability.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of professional experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, or a comparable hands-on technical role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong coding fundamentals with the ability to write clean, reliable code quickly. Proficiency in Python is strongly preferred; a secondary language (e.g., TypeScript/JavaScript or Java) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience building integrations—working with REST APIs, authentication flows, webhooks, and data exchange between systems.
- Practical experience with prompt engineering and LLMs—an understanding of how to structure prompts, control outputs, and systematically improve performance for a given task. (Direct experience with prompting frameworks or LLM APIs is a strong plus.)
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills—able to explain technical concepts clearly and build trust with stakeholders.
- A logical, experimental, and resourceful approach to problem-solving, with the autonomy to drive solutions in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience deploying or integrating LLM/AI features into production use cases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deployment tooling.
- Exposure to enterprise or regulated customer environments.
- Prior client-facing, consulting, or professional services experience.
- Experience with evaluation/testing approaches for AI outputs (eval sets, scoring, regression checks).
What You Bring
The two traits we can't train: genuine customer empathy and the drive to execute and ship solutions independently. You're equally comfortable tweaking a prompt until the output is exactly right and writing the integration code that gets our platform talking to a customer's stack. If you enjoy solving puzzles inside messy, high-stakes environments and want your work to have direct, visible business impact, this role is for you.
