Role & responsibilities

Monthly Reporting & Close Support

  • Support the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across assigned entities
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, prior period, and forecast; document and explain key drivers
  • Assist in the preparation of management reporting packages for senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with accounting team members to ensure all entries are posted and sub-ledgers are reconciled prior to close Financial Statement Review
  • Review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Identify and flag anomalies, misclassifications, or unusual trends for management attention
  • Support preparation of financial packages for lenders, auditors, and regulatory filings as required
  • Assist with quarter-end and year-end close activities, including audit workpaper preparation and external auditor support
  • Cash Forecasting
  • Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts, incorporating operating activity, scheduled disbursements, and expected receipts
  • Monitor actual cash positions against forecast and provide timely variance commentary
  • Coordinate with AP and AR teams to ensure forecast inputs reflect current operational data
  • Support treasury reporting and assist in liquidity planning as directed by finance leadership Ad Hoc & Cross-Functional Support
  • Assist with special projects, financial modeling, and ad hoc analysis requests from the CFO or Controller
  • Support system and process improvement initiatives, including automation of recurring reporting tasks
  • Collaborate with accounting, compliance, and operations teams as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA / CPA preferred or in progress
  • 36 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis
  • Prior experience in insurance company accounting – this is a key requirement for the role
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation
  • Demonstrated experience with monthly close, and cash flow reporting
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; ERP experience required
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet strict close deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders
