Finance Manager Costing and Cost Accounting & Financial Reporting

Job Title: Finance Manager Costing/Cost Accounting & Financial Reporting Location: Mumbai (HO) Reports To: Head Strategies & Transformation Department: Finance & Accounts Industry: Corporate Services / Construction & MEP Projects

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented finance professional with strong experience in cost accounting, project costing, budgeting, and financial reporting. The role is pivotal in supporting business growth, driving profitability analysis, enabling project-level financial visibility, and ensuring sound financial practices across our business.

CMA / ICWA

Key Responsibilities:

1.Costing & Cost Accounting:

• Maintain cost standards for products, solutions, and system integration projects.
• Track and Analyse project-wise and service-line-wise costs and variances.
• Implement job costing, activity-based costing (ABC), and cost control practices.
• Support Project Mangers to review subcontractor, vendor, material, and labor costs.
• Provide cost estimates and support in pricing strategies for bids/tenders.

2.Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Lead in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working with all business units to align targets.
• Prepare project profitability statements and cost analysis,
• Track actuals vs. budget and prepare variance analysis reports.

3.Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare and present monthly MIS, Project cost sheets basic, P&L and financial health reports to leadership.
• Enable project-level profitability, client-level reporting, and cost center analysis.
• Ensure timely and accurate accounting records and documentation.

4.Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement:

• Support in implementing internal controls, cost controls, and reporting accuracy processes.
• Support in audit preparedness and statutory compliance.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Sales, Projects, Procurement) on financial data support

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience:7+ years of experience in cost accounting, project costing, and financial reporting; preferably in system integration, EPC, infrastructure, MEP, or automation companies or manufacturing industry.
• Sound knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind-AS), and other statutory frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP (SAP/Oracle/Tally Prime), and BI dashboards.
• Ability to manage multi-location projects, cost centers, and complex BoQs.
• Strong analytical skills with a proactive, business-partnering mindset.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in project-based or manufacturing organizations
• Exposure to bidding, tender financial modelling, or pricing support.
• Understanding of P&L-driven project health metrics.
