Fabric Analytics Data Modeler

We are building a central enterprise data platform on Microsoft Fabric and are looking for a Senior Semantic Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain governed semantic models, dimensional data structures, and analytics-ready datasets while contributing to modern analytics and visualization solutions.

This is a hands-on role working with high-volume datasets, applying medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold), and developing semantic models and star-schema data structures. While Power BI is currently part of our reporting stack, the role also involves partnering on dashboards and analytical applications using modern frameworks like Python (Streamlit, Plotly, Dash) or lightweight web applications.

This position requires a self-starter with at least 5 years of experience, able to work independently and solve complex data modeling and analytics challenges with minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain governed semantic models and dimensional data structures on Microsoft Fabric Lakehouses.
• Build and maintain star-schema models, business-friendly measures, relationships, hierarchies, and reusable analytics datasets.
• Apply medallion architecture principles to ensure clean, performant, trusted, and governed data flows into semantic layers.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and business teams to translate business requirements into scalable semantic models and modern analytics solutions.
• Support and prototype modern visualization frameworks to expand beyond traditional BI tools when appropriate.
• Optimize semantic models, queries, and analytics solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work independently to solve complex modeling and data interpretation problems with minimal hand-holding.

What are we looking for in you?

• 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, semantic modeling, or data modeling roles
• Strong experience with SQL, Python, dimensional modeling, and cloud-based data platforms
• Hands-on experience with high-volume datasets and analytics-ready data products
• Strong knowledge of semantic modeling, star-schema design, measures, hierarchies, and data governance
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouses, Power BI semantic models, or similar modern data architectures
• Comfortable working independently and making design decisions
