Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely vendor payments and client collections.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Ensure accurate cost allocation across business units transport, warehousing, and 3PL operations.
- Monitor expenses and support cost optimisation initiatives in coordination with operations.
Billing & Receivables
- Prepare and verify customer invoices as per contracts and service agreements.
- Track outstanding payments and follow up for collections within credit timelines.
- Reconcile accounts with customers and resolve billing disputes.
- Support the preparation of MIS on billing and collection efficiency.
Vendor & Payables Management
- Process vendor bills (transporters, warehouse rent, utilities, etc.) after verification.
- Maintain vendor accounts and reconcile statements periodically.
- Coordinate with the operations and procurement teams for timely payment processing.
Budgeting & MIS Reporting
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and variance analysis.
- Generate regular MIS reports revenue, cost, profitability by customer, and business segment.
- Provide financial insights for management review and decision-making.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations.
- Prepare and assist in tax filings, audits, and statutory inspections.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for audit purposes.
Coordination & Support
- Collaborate closely with operations, sales, and customer service teams to align financials with business activities.
- Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and project evaluations.
- Assist in ERP/accounting system implementation and updates.
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with logistics operations (transport billing, demurrage, warehouse costing, etc.).
- Proficiency in logistics ERP systems.
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and other tax regulations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
