Job Description

Role & responsibilities


Accounting & Financial Management

  • Maintain day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely vendor payments and client collections.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation across business units transport, warehousing, and 3PL operations.
  • Monitor expenses and support cost optimisation initiatives in coordination with operations.

Billing & Receivables

  • Prepare and verify customer invoices as per contracts and service agreements.
  • Track outstanding payments and follow up for collections within credit timelines.
  • Reconcile accounts with customers and resolve billing disputes.
  • Support the preparation of MIS on billing and collection efficiency.

Vendor & Payables Management

  • Process vendor bills (transporters, warehouse rent, utilities, etc.) after verification.
  • Maintain vendor accounts and reconcile statements periodically.
  • Coordinate with the operations and procurement teams for timely payment processing.

Budgeting & MIS Reporting

  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and variance analysis.
  • Generate regular MIS reports revenue, cost, profitability by customer, and business segment.
  • Provide financial insights for management review and decision-making.

Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations.
  • Prepare and assist in tax filings, audits, and statutory inspections.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for audit purposes.

Coordination & Support

  • Collaborate closely with operations, sales, and customer service teams to align financials with business activities.
  • Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and project evaluations.
  • Assist in ERP/accounting system implementation and updates.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with logistics operations (transport billing, demurrage, warehouse costing, etc.).
  • Proficiency in logistics ERP systems.
  • Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and other tax regulations.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
