Job Description
To do design & development of Mechanical Parts & Assembly, be a part of NPD teams. Perform the design and analysis of new mechanical
systems.
Essential Functions:
- To do Enclosure designs involving Aluminum, plastics and sheet metal parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies that meet the mechanical,
thermal and DFA/DFM requirements of the system.
- To develop prototypes of parts and subassemblies by interacting with vendors.
- To analyze, test the prototypes and document the test results. Refine the design based on the inputs from the prototype testing.
- To assist ID House in Concept Generation.
- To prepare final design specifications in the form of 3D CAD models, 2D drawings.
- To release 3D and 2D data for tooling.
- To conduct Design Verification Tests (DVT) on the tooled up product.
- To design and develop packaging foams and cartons. Generate die-cut drawings for cartons. Generate artwork for screen/pad printing and
label on the products.
- To plan and support tooling phase of development.
- To support New Product Development team to release product to manufacturing and meet quality goals.
Secondary Functions:
- To assist in preparation of Bill of Materials for products. Generate part specifications in the database.
- To create Assembly drawings.
- To perform Tolerance stack up analysis.
- To assist in qualification of new parts/subassemblies.
- To assist primary vendor qualification.
