Role overview / About the program
To be successful in this position you need to be a team player and have an analytic mindset of a true problem solver. You will be responsible to develop 1D flow models and run simulations, do analysis as well as support with knowledge and recommendation. You will work close with colleagues in Bangalore as well as other Volvo sites around the world. You have the drive to continuously develop your personal abilities and behaviors.
You have experience from component and system simulations of including state-of-the-art tools and methods. You will be part of a cross-functional and international environment, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication.
A merit is experience from the automotive industry, special drivelines, with great attitude working cross functional and have a willingness to learn and take more responsibility.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
- BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 3-5 years of experience in 1D simulation & analysis of IC engine and/or Exhaust Aftertreatment Systems
- Primary software skill required: GT-SUITE or AVL Boost
- IC Engine:
- Knowledge of combustion systems and difference between Diesel combustion and Hydrogen combustion in the context of heavy-duty truck applications
- Knowledge of combustion parameters, viz., spark timing, equivalence ratio at the flame front, turbocharger control and throttle control on performance & NOx emissions, esp. for H2-ICE
- Calibration of 1D engine performance model parameters, based on steady state test results for corelation of manifold pressures, CA50, mass flow rate and NOx emissions
- Aftertreatment system:
- Understand system requirements from the H2-ICE perspective
- To be able to perform system level 1D simulations and predict species conversion
- Knowledge of Python scripts for post-processing and automation will be preferred though not mandatory.
- Good understanding of Powertrain technology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work on tight timelines in a dynamic environment.
- Be independent, pro-active, and continuously strive to improve.
- Good in presentation and communication skills
