Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software engineers (Frontend, Backend, and Quality) to foster their professional growth, career development, and technical capabilities.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-trust team environment that encourages innovation, ownership, and continuous learning.
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring process to attract top engineering talent.
Technical & Architectural Guidance:
- Provide technical guidance and oversight, ensuring sound architectural decisions and robust, scalable designs for both frontend (ReactJS, Node.js) and backend (Java, Node.js, distributed systems) components.
- Work closely with Staff Engineers to define technical roadmaps, drive best practices, and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality metrics, and security best practices across all team deliverables.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the teams technical stack, including ReactJS, Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, various databases (relational and NoSQL), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and CI/CD pipelines.
Project Delivery & Execution:
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of features and projects, from planning and estimation to execution, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate product requirements into actionable engineering plans.
- Ensure efficient execution of Agile/Scrum processes, managing project risks and dependencies effectively.
- Champion a strong quality mindset within the team, working closely with the Senior Quality Engineer to establish robust testing strategies and automation.
Strategic Planning & Vision:
- Contribute to the broader engineering strategy and technical vision for the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in web development, distributed systems, and quality assurance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation within the teams operations.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Serve as a key liaison between the engineering team and other departments, effectively communicating progress, challenges, and technical insights.
- Drive cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing to ensure alignment and leverage expertise across the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, including at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or engineering management role.
Technical Acumen: Strong foundational knowledge and practical experience in modern web development technologies, including:
- Frontend: Deep understanding of ReactJS, modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and related state management libraries.
- Backend: Expertise in building scalable distributed systems using Java/J2EE (Spring Boot preferred) and/or Node.js.
- Databases: Experience with relational (e.g., Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- APIs: Proficiency with RESTful and/or GraphQL API design and consumption.
Quality Assurance Mindset: A strong understanding of software quality principles, test automation strategies (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress), and CI/CD pipelines, with a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
System Design: Experience in designing and architecting highly scalable, performant, and resilient web applications and services.
Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Agile Methodologies: Demonstrated experience leading teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and grow engineering teams. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Problem Solving: Superior analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in complex technical and organizational contexts.
Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a high-growth or startup environment.
Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures.
Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for large-scale web applications.
Understanding of AI systems and tools, and experience with AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) in an engineering context.
Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal technical achievements.
